The IOPT software solution includes servers at primary and secondary location, and its database for the operation of doing business with electrical energy. The solution is capable of data transfers between servers being located at different locations. The data residing on each server has a security backup mechanism. In case of one server being down at primary location, the next server takes over the operation to avoid any kind of disruption in operation. The configuration on each server is identical, except the backup licensing on a secondary server is not needed since the tape copies are not generated on both servers at the same time. When primary server goes off-line, the licensing usage is also transferable to a secondary server.

Actual I.T. added value by introducing another server at a different location. With slight delay, the data is replicated to this server from a primary location. A slight delay makes sense operationally to avoid possible errors during the processing. The user may use the data before the replication in case an error was uncovered early in the stage.

The solution is equally balanced even on remote locations and completely guarantees the replication and protection of data on the key servers.

Protection and data redundancy

The system assures secure application operation and its data bases. In case of outages, the system is smart enough to switch the operation between the servers at the location. The solution assures the replication and mirroring of data between servers at the very low level (bit by bit transfer). In case of failure of the primary server, the secondary server fills in and takes the primary operational role transparently (IP, name …). The second server on another location may be used in case of more serious outages. The access to this server is possible through an existing WAN connection and with pre-designed virtual stations.
